Hydraulic couplings

The ROTOFLUID coupling is a hydrodynamic coupling made to provide the transmission with maximum safety of smooth operation and durability, and is placed between the motor (driving machine) and the machine (driven part).

Hydrodynamic couplings can be equipped with simple SCF or double DCF delay chamber. With the simple SCF delay chamber, the Ca/Cn torque limitation varies from 180% to 150% by varying the amount of oil in the coupling. With the double DCF delay chamber, the Ca/Cn torque limitation varies from 150% to 120% by varying the amount of oil in the coupling. The advantages of the delay chambers become evident as the power to be transmitted increases.

SCF and DCF delay chamber are available from size 30 to size 95P.

For very gradual starts with accelerating torques just above the rated torque, AC-type couplings with annular chambers can be used.

In addition to retaining the many advantages of Rotofluid hydraulic couplings, the CA hydraulic coupling with retard anular chamber, due to its design (large retard chamber and annular chamber), has the main feature of:

  • Start systems with great inertia;
  • Significantly reduce the driving torque at start-up:
  • Significantly limit the current drawn during machine startup

Application areas: control units for starting machines with high inertial loads such as mills, crushers, conveyor belts.
